The world you know is a lie. Despite everything you've been told and all you want to believe, there is much more to our average, mundane life than you realize. Very real dangers lurk in the shadows all around you. There's a second world right beneath the surface, filled with vampires, lycanthropes, monsters, and nightmares that go bump in the night. 

Shadowfell presents a campaign setting of modern horror and fantasy, using the d20 Modern game system. Within this world, factions of monsters, hunters and sorcerers battle one another for dominance of the world we know, techno-mages use computer searches to recover spells lost to the ages and industrious adventurers discover a brand new world beneath the streets of cities they've lived in their whole lives. How is this possible? The old stories, myths and folklore we all thought were bedtime stories have turned out to be true and as the walls of reality continue to thin, the fate of the world hangs in the balance. 

As in all times of need, heroes must arise to fight against the forces of shadow--evil that can mix ancient eldritch power with 21st-century technology. But not all heroes are human and not every source of evil originates from within the shadows. Werewolves, witches, psychics and even vampires are stepping up to defend the world they love from those that would destroy it.
